HELP WANTED – Warren County



Warren County is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Employment and Training Director II.  The Director is responsible for the planning, coordination, and administration of a wide variety of local Employment and Training Program operations. This involves coordination of activities with adjacent counties who make up the local workforce area and integration of services with the local NYS Department of Labor office to deliver services to the public through the local career center.  Responsibilities include developing, directing, and implementing a comprehensive local Employment and Training Program.  Program oversight involves relating applicable fiscal, economic, and technical information to program plans in order to assist business customers with local workforce needs and to assist job seeking customers to find employment and upgrade and improve job skills.


  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in public or business administration, industrial or labor relations, economics, political science, social science, human resources or related field, and four years of fulltime experience in employment program planning and development and analysis, personnel counseling or placement, public or business administration, economics or labor relations, or related field (two years of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity); or
  2. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 60 semester credit hours, with at least 12 credit hours in any of the areas described in (1) and six years of full-time experience in the areas also defined in (1) (two years of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity); or
  3. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and eight years of experience as described in (1) (two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity); or
  4. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (1) through (3).

NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.

SALARY: Base salary is $61,855 with potential adjustments commensurate with experience. Warren County provides eligible employees with a competitive benefits package.

RESIDENCY: Warren County residency required at the time of appointment.
