Gloria devoted much effort to mastering the excel database, performing mass mailings of up to 3,000 pieces of mail, learning the Square system for point of sale, and expanding a filing system. Perhaps more importantly, she became aware she had drastically underestimated her ability to tackle new experiences. She attacked online learning with gusto as she studied Microsoft Access, greeted the public with confident customer service expertise, and resolved stressful situations as they occurred.
The crew of young men was mostly very good to work with; they were always on time, clean, polite to the public when they were around them. They did any and all that was asked with no complaints. They did so many of the “little things”, tasks I never had time to do that improved the appearance of the property 10 fold. Many times throughout the summer many employees and the public commented on the work they did. I am truly grateful to have had them.
Please, to anyone who is having a hard time finding employment: staff here can direct you and help you. Here’s what helped me: Attending & participating in all job fairs. Taking all classes available. Taking specialized e-metrix classes on-line.
Polly has been an in home Health Aide for years. This inspired her to become a nurse. We were able to help her plan to start a program at the Samaritan School of Nursing. Polly later transferred to Russell Sage College and finished with her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She recently passed the boards and is ready to go to work as a Registered Nurse. Congratulations Polly!
