Mechanical Assembler with Quality Control Responsibilities

(Andritz Repair & Rebuild Product Line)
Reports to: Shop Supervisor
The ideal candidate would possess:
 Detailed assembly experience with complex and large mechanical assemblies
 Ability to read engineering drawings
 Machining experience (an asset)
 Flexibility to work overtime as required
 Experience working with large bearings and mechanical seals
 Good communication and problem solving skills
 Be self-motivated and have the ability to work with little or no supervision
 Experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry would be an asset

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:
 Comply with company policies also making sure that safety first is considered at all time. Report any nonconformances
and or suspected potential problems with procedures, instructions or equipment to shop supervisor.
 Performing precision assembly and disassembly of different pulp and paper machinery using various tooling.
 Perform QC inspections on incoming and outgoing equipment
 Maintain equipment as required.
 May be required to travel for service to customer sites throughout North America

QUALIFICATIONS
 Certificate in mechanical assembly (or equivalent) and/or 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical assembly
 Proficient in the operation of precision measuring tools (Vernier calipers, micrometers, pi-tapes, etc.)
 Computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
 NDT experience an asset
 Ability to follow SOP’s and provide detailed documentation on jobs
 Welding experience an asset
 Ability to provide QC checks on all required parts along with providing a detailed QC report
 Efficiently set up and operate applicable equipment needed for the repair and rebuild of Andritz product
lines(CMM, Balancing Machine, Indication machine, and Laser Basket machine)(Training will be available)
 A high level of flexibility working within the required skills (measuring, inspecting and assembly) along with
following necessary work schedules (starting, finishing times and overtime) is a must. Team work is essential.
