Pipeline Coordinator

 

Hudson Mohawk Area Health Education Center (HM AHEC) is an independent nonprofit organization with a mission to develop and strengthen the healthcare workforce in underserved communities in our 10-county region. HM AHEC is seeking a Pipeline Coordinator.

The Pipeline Coordinator is responsible for the planning and coordination of assigned projects that contribute to the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the Hudson Mohawk Area Health Education Center (Hudson Mohawk AHEC) as they relate to fulfilling the organization’s mission. The Pipeline Coordinator will primarily support the implementation of health career pipeline development and career exposure activities, including the coordination of Hudson Mohawk AHEC’s Health Careers Scholarship Program, delivering Health Career Presentations and planning/coordinating annual Summer MASH Camps. The Hudson Mohawk AHEC Pipeline Coordinator works with local communities, secondary schools, collegiate, other educational and social service agencies, and healthcare entities to plan and implement health professions awareness and pipeline building program opportunities in our 10-county region. The position would have a start date on or around September 1, 2024.

 

Position Title: Pipeline Coordinator

Note: Reliable transportation and a valid New York State driver’s license are required. This position requires regional travel throughout the 10-county region (Albany, Essex, Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren, and Washington); some overnight travel is required.

Pay Status/Range: $23.50-$25.00 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements health profession pipeline development programs by planning and developing initiatives for health career education programming to include shadowing experiences, health career events/workshops/camps, enrichment programs, scholarships, and additional opportunities in support of the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Supports the evaluation of program effectiveness through development, implementation and analysis of program evaluation and feedback to demonstrate program impact and influence future program planning. Engages in participant tracking to elicit long term effectiveness of program impact and participant outcomes.
  • Encourages participation from local educators and healthcare professionals by developing linkages with regional school districts and presenting educational programs to focus attention on health career opportunities and related education options for young people in our region.
  • Promotes the mission of Hudson Mohawk AHEC to local communities, secondary schools, colleges, other educational and social service agencies, healthcare entities and other relevant entities in order to develop and sustain strategic partnerships to support the fulfillment of all Hudson Mohawk AHEC goals and deliverables.
  • Meets grant and contract guidelines by accomplishing program goals and targets, prepares and maintains documentation, completes reports specific to training programs, participants, and goal completion, maintains all assigned projects and activities within approved operations budget(s), and maintains files on all activities, programs, and students.
  • Submits data for entry in to the AHEC Tracker system in a timely fashion, capturing participant information for program activities as assigned.
  • Actively participates in strategic planning and program development initiatives to respond to regional training demand and recruitment needs.
  • Helps to assure the overall success of the Hudson Mohawk AHEC by performing all other duties in accordance with grants and/or contracts and as assigned by the Hudson Mohawk AHEC Executive Director.
  • Complies with Hudson Mohawk AHEC policies and procedures, employee guidelines and applicable federal, state and local regulations.

 

Education: An Associate’s degree in an educational, social services or health-related field. A Bachelor’s degree in an educational, social services or health related field is preferred.

Experience: One year of experience in an educational, social services or health-related field is required. Experience in secondary education engagement is preferred. Public speaking and project planning experience is preferred.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated abilities to exercise good judgment, work cooperatively with others, and take initiative are required.
  • Effective organizational skills, program/project planning and implementation skills, effective interpersonal communication skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of and the ability to use basic office machines, and the ability to understand and follow written and/or verbal directions are required.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking – whether in classrooms or leading healthcare career camps.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with individuals in local educational institutions, healthcare organizations, social care organizations and other partners to be determined.
  • Competency using Microsoft Office programs is required (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to process and interpret diverse information while working simultaneously on several projects.
  • Confidentiality is required for sensitive information.
  • The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
  • Knowledge of health professions training programs is preferred.
