Nutrition and Food Systems Educator

 

The CCE Warren Nutrition Education program provides evidence-based nutrition education programs to help promote optimal health to individuals, families, and groups.

 

The Nutrition and Food Systems Educator is responsible for assessing, developing, delivering and evaluating programs that address community (adult and youth) nutrition and food system related needs. Programs are developed utilizing input from various consumer groups that represent both youth and adult populations in Warren County. Provides subject matter expertise in the area of nutrition and related topics.

The Educator develops educational materials, program outlines, and utilizes existing resources for implementation when available. Works with Cornell University and other Land grant colleges to foster community-campus collaborations. Deliver current curriculum programs as defined and innovative programs with discretion. Assure that the programs strive to meet the nutrition needs of urban, suburban, and rural communities of diversity while also staying within the University program plan of work.

Collaborates in delivery of educational programs with other members of the Warren Cornell Cooperative Extension team, colleagues in regional (multi-Association) and statewide programs, and Cornell faculty related to youth development, agriculture & natural resources and parenting/family life.

 

Earned Master’s degree in nutrition, health education, public health, or related field. $56,000 per year, state benefits.
