GIS (Geographic Information System) and Utilities Location Technician
City of Glens Falls is seeking candidates to fill the full-time position of GIS and Utilities Location Technician. The position involves the performance of technician duties to locate, record, catalog and map physical locations, maintenance history and operational data of water/wastewater drainage, utility lines, underground structures, hydrants. Also includes above grade street fixtures, such as curbs, pedestrian ramps, sidewalks, traffic signals, signage, street trees, street lights etc. Responsibilities also include the use of GIS and CAD software.
SALARY: $49,634/yr. (35 hour work week) with benefit package that includes health insurance (including dental and vision), enrollment in the NYS Retirement system and paid time off.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Associates Degree or higher in engineer science, mechanical design technology, mechanical engineering technology, geography, urban planning, computer programming, computer science or closely related field AND two (2) years’ experience administering a Geographic Information System or other computerized mapping and assessment system OR two (2) years of experience designing, creating, and updating maps based upon digital and non-digital data
OR
B. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of experience administrating a GIS or other computerized mapping and assessment system or four (4) years’ experience designing, creating, and updating maps based upon digital and non-digital data.
Position will remain open until it is filled, based on Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with an examination to be held at a later date. Selected candidates must meet civil service requirements for appointment following the establishment of eligibility list.

TRAFFIC CONTROL ASSISTANT (PROVISIONAL)
City of Glens Falls is seeking a full-time, provisional, TRAFFIC CONTROL ASSISTANT who will perform routine parking and traffic control work of a NON-POLICE nature. Enforce all parking restrictions and do related work as required under the supervision of a ranking police supervisor.
Residency: Candidates must have been legal resident of Warren or a contiguous County for at least four months immediately preceding the date of the exam.
Salary: $38,459 $18.49/hour
Schedule: 40-hour work week
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma
