Customer Service/Administrative Assistant Needed

Full Job Description:

The Customer Service/Administrative Assistant assists the Club Manager with the daily operations of our Front Desk at our Headquarters. This position contributes greatly to the continued growth of revenue for the Company and plays an important part in building a team with strong customer service and selling skills, keeping operations running smoothly, according to our policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Customer Service – Be able to knowledgeably sell to customers, answer customer and employee questions and facilitate solutions through complete knowledge of winery services, products, and policies in a professional and friendly manner. Customer interactions occur in person, on the phone, via email, and via website chat; the ability to communicate professionally and effectively via all these methods is important. Must develop a thorough knowledge of all company products, services, and policies to be able to ensure the highest level of sales, problem resolution, order accuracy, customer status, and information.

Communication – Facilitates communication between customers, line-level staff, and management. Be knowledgeable of company communications and share appropriate information with customers.

Shipping – Serve as the backup to the shipping department to ensure that all orders are fulfilled accurately and timely, resolve shipping issues, and ensure an orderly shipping area. Adhere to company shipping policies and communicate such to other employees and customers.

Reservations – This person must perform the essential duties of the receptionist at our headquarters, facilitating booking and changing reservations, contacting guests, upselling, and more.

Sales – Expertly sell our wine to customers using comprehensive knowledge of Winery products, services, and policies, with optimum customer service and sales performance as the goal.

POS – Develop a complete knowledge of retail POS and Reservation systems. Be able to execute all sales and reporting functions, data entry, inventory, customer maintenance, gift card maintenance, etc.

Inventory – Assist with inventory, including backroom supplies, office and cleaning supplies, and retail items including receiving, stocking, inventory data entry, organization, counting, distributing, notifying management when low, etc.

Cleanliness and Safety – Regularly clean and organize work areas, maintaining excellent cleanliness and safety standards.

Administrative and General Tasks – This position serves as an assistant to our Club Manager. In this role, you will perform a variety of administrative and operational tasks. These tasks include answering phones, receiving packages, scheduling, data entry, record keeping, filing, mailing, laminating, paper cutting, scanning, cleaning, organization, running errands, and a variety of other tasks. Attention to detail and data entry accuracy is an absolute must for this position.

Team Player – Understanding that Adirondack Winery is a small business and as such, all employees must be prepared to jump in as needed on a variety of tasks with the well-being of the company as the ultimate goal. At certain times of the year, this staffer may be called upon to represent Adirondack Winery at off-site events, or work in other areas of the business to accommodate business needs.

Physical demands: The ability to frequently lift, move and load cases of wine (approx. 35lbs), Must be able to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time, sitting or standing. Constantly operate a computer and other office types of machinery such as a calculator, copier, and printer.

Working conditions: The ability to work in an office setting with multiple people and/or distractions. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. Must be able to maintain reliable transportation to get to and from work sites and events.

Status: Full Time, Year-Round

Rate of Pay: Starting at$15 per hour + incentives + benefits

Location: This position primarily works at our Headquarters at 395 Big Bay Road in Queensbury. Occasional shifts will be required at our Lake George and Bolton Landing Tasting Rooms.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm, occasional weekends required.

Must be 21 or older to sample wine to sell to customers.
